Illuminate was a black light gallery that took place from September 28th, 2024 to October 4th, 2024 in the Waldo Bates Student Gallery. I began working with fluorescent art due to my parents, who owned a collection of black light posters in the 90s that they then passed on to me. The vivid colors and atmosphere that black lights produce fascinated me, and I spent considerable time researching how to reproduce fluorescent effects. This was a culmination of my efforts.
