Calico Dogs Band Logo
The band Calico Dogs wanted a logo that felt vintage and handmade while reflecting the blues, alternative, indie, and psychedelia influences in their music.
Calico Dogs wanted elements of their logo to be done by hand. Due to this, I began the design process by creating mood board using photography they provided and found objects, imagery, and textures. Vintage illustrations and advertisements guided my design choices. Hand lettering became my primary mode of creation, with both the primary and secondary logo being hand lettered.

Initial Mood boards
The band ultimately decided that mood board 2 (with the dog wearing the astronaut helmet) aligned more with their vision , which guided further design choices.
Final Branding
The final branding includes a primary logo and a secondary logo. While enjoying the display nature of the initial logo, they also wanted a secondary one that would be more easily readable for show flyers or events.
